OH, yesterday after logging offline because there was no one to talk to online because Niks was brb-ing, i started reading one of the books that Niks downloaded for me, i went for The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. i finished it in 2hours++.
i was Notebook-ed. HAHAHHAH. RIIIGHT. :P
im serious, i was like sobbing and i wasnt finished with the bloody story yet. it's just that it completely got to me that Allie did not remember Noah. SHE DIDN'T FUCKING REMEMBER HIM!

okay, so for those of you whose been living in a rock ill tell the magical story of Noah & Allie.
the movie is quite different from the book by the way. the movie starts all the way from how Allie just moved in and everything, while the book starts when they were already seperated.

anyway the story goes like this, it starts off with this old guy reading a notebook to this elderly woman. the story was about Allie & Noah. their story goes like this. Allie goes to New Bern for the summer cos her dad's this big tycoon and whatever. and she meets Noah at the fair thing. and Noah was SO VERY PERSISTENT to get her to go out with him. you should like see the movie how he did it, the ferris wheel thing. HAHHA. :P anyway, when she did go out with him. they fell deeeply in love and everything. but her parents did not approve kasi, well she was the daughter of some high society guy and he was, what? a poor guy. so yeah.
when Allie had to go home for the summer they said to each other 'The Summer may be over, but we will NEVER be over.'
Noah wrote to Allie every single day for two bloody years. but he never got any reply. so one day he just stopped writing, he sent his goodbye letter and that was it.
turns out, Allie's mom hid every single letter and Allie had no idea. they were both thinking that it was just a summer thing between them.
and then, Allie falls for Lon. he's her parents ideal man for her. she gets engaged, and three weeks before the wedding? she sees an article in the newspaper. ABOUT NOAH. in it he rebuilt this beautiful mansion. the very same mansion Allie and him lost their virginities. he promised her he'd fix up that mansion for her. and he did.
Allie traveled to New Bern to see Noah. and, they fall in love over again.
the next morning, Allie's mom comes over. clears the air and tells her that Lon is on his way to New Bern. Allie's mom tells Noah she always liked him, but she only wanted what was best for her daughter and everything.
Noah BEGS with Allie to stay with him. this is where the old man closes the notebook and takes a breath.
the elderly woman goes 'what happens to Allie? who does she choose?'
the man smiles and says 'who do you think she chooses?'
'i think she chose Noah.'
the man smiles.
the elderly woman says 'i dont know who i am. help me remember who i am.'
the man goes 'you're Haley, a lover of life.'
the woman nods. they walk to her building and she stops and takes a good look at him.
'what are you doing?' he goes.
'i dont want to forget you so im trying to remmeber you.'
the man smile sadly. 'it doesnt work that way.'

he leads her to his room, where a dinner was set up. there he continues his story, that Allie did in fact choose Noah, and they were very happy together and had lots of kids.
'i think i've heard this story before.' the woman goes. 'was this a true story?'
the man nods. suddenly he says 'i love you Allie.' and the woman looks at him.
'i love you too Noah.' she goes suddenly and starts crying. 'i remember Noah, i remember!' then she gets worried 'for how long will i remember?'
'who knows?' Noah says and he's worried too. he hugs her and he looks at the clock.
he could sense that the next minute, everything would be different. when the clock strikes twelve, she looks at him confusedly. 'who are you?' she goes. then she starts to panic. 'GET OUT OF MY ROOM, WHO ARE YOU?' and, and..

this is where i cry. where i cry so hard.

the next day, the man collapses. it was the day before their 49th anniversary, and he just knew it was time for him to go. it was killing him that he hasnt held her hand for years, and it killed him everyday that she wouldnt remember him.
he looks at the notebook he's reading from, on the front. it said
dear Noah, thank you for writing our story in this notebook. when i forget, read it out to me and i will remember. please do not be angry with me when i do not remember, but i will come back to you. Allie.

that night he sneaks into Allie's room, and they die together.

you should watch the movie, or read the book. it's just sad. im sorry i spoiled it if you were about to read or watch. XP but yeah. hahaha.

i dont take anything back when i dub Nicholas Sparks as the king of sad love stories.

you know i was just saying this morning that if i do go back home to Phils, i would be so totally misunderstood 'cause, like, im so used to speaking with little malay bits in them, and when i speak Tagalog it sounds so very wrong annnd now plus the Chinese accent that comes and goes. i'd be the laughing stock, i tell ya.
and the fact that i grew up in a foreign country and studied different subjects and everything would make it so very hard for me.

sooo, i do hope im not going to go back anytime soon. :]
