i watched My Sassy Girl this afternoon, as in the American remake not the Korean one (though i want to watch it!) and it has made one of my favourite movies of all time, along with 10 Things I Hate About You and Breakfast At Tiffanys. :D

its about the first and last time Charlie Bellow falls in love. Charlie is this small town guy who gets accepted into college in NYC. when Charlie meets Jordan Roark, a compulsive and wild girl, Charlie figures she's trouble. but as Jordan starts teaching him how to live, he falls for her.

when she asks him to write her a letter and meet her at the park the next day. she writes a letter herself, but they both have to bury it and then come back one year later without seeing each other. one year later, she doesnt show up. he digs up her letter and reads that she loved being with him because he reminded her so much of her fiance who died, but then she fell for him for real. but she felt guilty for her dead fiance she needed a year off to try and get over her dead fiance. and if she wasnt there by then, then she was never going to be ready.

eventually she does show up, a day late. thinking that destiny planned for them never to end up together, she read his letter of how in love he was with her. 

a few days later, she meets her ex fiance's mother, who wants to introduce her to one of her nephew's who was like her son in almost every way. turns out, its Charlie. hurrah!!

the part when Charlie read her letter made me sob, and Charlie's letter to Jordan made me cry, so i completely ignored the happy ending. heh. :P im like, the biggest sucker for movies that make me cry. :P
